UK Human Rights Blog: Massacre families urge UK not to leave ECHR

October 30, 2014

This post by Alice Donald of the UK Human Rights blog outlines the international implications of  the Conservative Party’s proposals to introduce a British Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. The item was published in September 2014.  This is a policy that she claims would weaken the UK’s obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and lead to countries with worse human rights records’ reneging on their responsibility to protect human rights under the Convention.
