EDF and EHRC seminar on prejudice and unlawful behaviour

October 10, 2016

The Equality and Diversity Forum and the Equality and Human Rights Commission held a joint seminar on 3 October 2016 for NGOs on the Commission’s recently published Prejudice and unlawful behaviour research report. The report brings together the latest evidence and insight on how prejudice leads to discrimination and unlawful behaviour (discrimination, identity-based harassment and violence).

The Commission has published blogs in the report on Civil Service World, the International Network for Hate Studies blog and on the Commission’s own website.

During the seminar attendees had the opportunity to:

·         Hear an overview of the Commission’s work in this area – including key findings from the research, what works to             prevent prejudice, discrimination and identity-based violence and discrimination, and the criteria for assessment

·         Listen to presentations about projects and interventions from organisations working in this area

·         Share your reactions to the research and the experiences from your organisation

·         Discuss effective interventions and the tools and levers for change that should be developed to build on this work.
